The Cut List: Christmas in May

by Chiefs

Wow! This day continues to be too good to be true — Ryan Sims has been traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only did the Bucs want Sims, they actually gave us something in return for him. No, not a box full of Derrick Brooks bobbleheads and a cannonball. Those suckers gave us an undisclosed draft pick. What kind of backwards-ass world is the NFL when you can get a pick for Ryan Sims, but not Trent Green.

Anyway, our Kansas City Chiefs are handing out pink slips left and right. Who’s next?

The Cut List (updated):

1. G-Wes

2. Trent Green – Cut him now so we can go out and sign recently released WR Keyshawn Johnson. Herm can handle him, trust me, and he would help both Brodie and D-Bo (Dwayne Bowe’s nickname) develop big time. I might even start an online petition and forward it to King Carl myself.

3. Kendrell Bell - If I need to explain this one to you, then you haven’t watched the Chiefs in over two years. Get him and his big chunk of salary-cap change outta here.

he can hold the clip board and show up, or he can go away and pay the money back...Green isnt stupid he'll hold the damned clip board

Let's keep Trent Green as long as possible, until Miami realizes that they will have to start a one-legged Daunte Culpepper or a rookie at QB and pony up a 4th or 5th round pick. We're not asking for a lot, before last season he was a Top 10 QB in the league and he is worth more than a 6th round pick.

I really do agree with that. If you want to make the Chiefs trade you to only one team then he should suffer not the Chiefs. I would love to have 3-way competition for QB. I feel that is one of our questionable positions right now so why not have those guys compete for the job.

I'm ready just to keep Trent for the whole year. Make him our 3rd string QB. He has been quite the moaner about this trade, plus it would stick it to Miami. We have to have plenty of room in the cap after the losses of Hicks and Sims.

Yah. Clayton said that Miami will not trade with us and will wait for Trent Green to be cut. Also said Trent Green is practically begging for Kansas City to trade his pretty much what Clayton said on Sportscenter.

Don't forget that we have Jon McGraw, a steady S who can play two positions. Plus, with linebackers who are great in coverage we may not play with two safeties all the time.

Hear anything about the Miami QB situation on SportsCenter?

I guess the only reason is to send him to the play (Blitzing him)

sports center will be announcing news on Miamis QB issues!!!!!now

Bell watches plays go by him without moving towards the play...why keep him, at all...

I think that using Bell as a pass rusher might be the best thing for him. Thats supposedly what he does best. I think that Bell could be effective rotating in on special situations but do you really want to pay him that much for playing about 10-20 plays?

I'm glad Hall is gone, after that one good year he kinda got a bit of an ego. I like that Sims is finally gone and also Hicks. They both seemed like good guys, they just never did anything productive. I wanted Green to stay one more year until i heard what his agent was saying, now i don't really care. Bell has gotta go. I like wesley and his turnovers, but he is a liability in coverage, can't takle, and costs too much. The only problem with cutting him is that would be leaving us with only two safties, both in only their second years. Thats alot of pressure. But then again our newly kick ass front seven should eliminate a bunch of that pressure and give them some easy turnovers. (By the way I like the Knight cut too.) I'm not into picking up Keyshawn at all. He'd be bad for the team because i don't think we could get him the ball near as much as he would want it, which would likely upset him. I can't see him caring about Bowe at all. On the other hand I think Kennison is just as good, and will be all about Bowe getting better. The two have already been talking like they're buds, and they have that LSU connection. Plus I think Webb is gonna step it up and may push for the #2 spot. The Medlock pick is growing on me, so I think Tynes should be getting the boot (no pun) soonish. We will also likely drop an RB. Good cuts so far by the cheifs, it looks like herm is really changing this team for the better. I'm guessing we might have a top ten D this year. Now if only we could make the offence a little less predictable.

What do you have to say about Carl saying that they are going to be using Bell has a pass rusher a lot this year. Maybe a third down DE?

I agree its time that we take the Cap Hit with Bell. Even though it will cost us more to cut him I would rather not pay him for the next few years he has remaining.
