ChiefStock: WR Craig Davis

Craig Davis is a guy that might be getting overlooked because of ex-Louisiana State teammates Dwayne Bowe and JaMarcus Russell. He is a lock to be a first-day pick and could be a great pick for the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round, barring he’s still on the board. I’m not sure I would spend a second-round pick on him, but with his size, 6′2″, and speed, 4.44 40, he might be worth drafting there. Todd McShay at ESPN.com has Davis going 56th overall to the Denver Broncos, two picks after we have him getting selected. He has great hands and can also return kicks. His main weakness is that he’s had some injuries over his career (In 2003 he broke his elbow, and in 2005 he missed time due to a concussion.). Take a look at Davis’ video and let me know what you think.

I hope he isn’t a byproduct of the others on his team though…he saw mostly single coverage
April 21st, 2007 at 10:37 amThere is that perspective, but maybe Davis was a big part of why Bowe didn’t see double coverage as well. It works both ways. Don’t you think Reggie Wayne helps Marvin Harrison almost as much as Harrison helps him?
As for Russell, yes, he probably wouldn’t have that kind of arm launching him the ball here.
April 21st, 2007 at 12:14 pmNow wait a minute…. Brodie can throw it, maybe not seventy yards but he has an arm…lol
the problem like you said we only have one receiver if we get him who is on the other side…???
April 21st, 2007 at 5:08 pmKennison isn’t really the problem. Guys like Parker and Hall are the issues.
And Brodie can throw it, just not like Russell can. He may have the strongest arm in the NFL the second he is drafted.
April 21st, 2007 at 6:27 pmAnd when we simplify the offense this year we may have the receivers. On the bench now:)))
April 21st, 2007 at 7:39 pmI suppose you mean Hannon and Webb. I’ll believe it when I see it. So far they have I think only 3 receptions between them.
April 21st, 2007 at 9:05 pmThats why Herman wants to simplify the offense to get them on the field the offense we were running isn’t the easiest to pick up
April 21st, 2007 at 11:02 pmWith Trent Green bidding adieu, a less-experienced QB stepping in and the Chiefs looking to add yet another RB, I’d say that our offense won’t be as complex as it has been in years past. Will Shields retiring will also play a part in that. And if Brodie starts, then things will really be simplified.
April 21st, 2007 at 11:19 pmTrue and thats why the other two rec. should be able to make it to the field, I hope Herman is right…
April 21st, 2007 at 11:24 pmI pray he is…lol
I’m just really scared about those two. If they can’t beat out Hall and Parker, then how good can they really be?
April 21st, 2007 at 11:54 pmsomething to think about…
with the wideouts…
for those who think we should draft Ginn,…
well if they wait for the third round they can grab a kid named…David Clowney WR Virginia Tech. he runs even faster (clocked at 4.30 vs Ginns 4.35),…
And he is slightly bigger (only five pounds but still), if they wait for a wideout till then they get the burner they want if they wish to go that way.•
April 22nd, 2007 at 12:16 amAnd when you consider he didn’t really have great QBs’ while in college, and his appendectomy surgery 2006 he still got back to the field, watch his senior bowl plays(if you can find them).
April 22nd, 2007 at 12:29 amIn ESPN Todd McShays mock draft, he now has the Chiefs taking Davis in the second round.
