The Net is kind of barren today when it comes to Chiefs news. I guess it’s worth mentioning that even the local Miami media now concede that the Dolphins are “likely to sweeten” the current seventh-round offer for Trent Green. I absolutely love how King Carl is using the Pats-Phins Wes Welker trade as leverage. I would too. Trent Green’s trade value has to be at least equal to Welker’s.
I am now covering the Chiefs in addition to the Dolphins over on RealFootball365.com. My first Chiefs piece should be out soon. Oddly enough, my most recent contribution over there was a Raiders piece I did filling in for one of the Raiders beat guys. The piece probably won’t be a favorite of Chiefs fans, as I predict the Raiders to actually be competitive in the AFC West next season. I love my Chiefs, but honestly I really do think the Silver and Black will be markedly improved. We can beat them twice, but sans Shields I’m not sure that we will.
Like I stated in yesterday’s Fix, Jason Whitlock has been all over the place expressing his opinion of who is really to blame for terminology such as “nappy-headed hos.”

Of course, I always like to have Jason around covering my beloved Chiefs, but I applaud him for going out and standing up for a cause he truly believes in. Even more so considering that his beliefs don’t necessarily coincide with those of mainstream America, both black and white.

Does this mean you think we will get a second and seventh round pick (or something like it),…it was my assumption,
that there was only one draft pick involved with the Green trade.
No… it means that Carl is trying to use the Welker trade as a negotiating tool, essentially saying, “Welker, a glorified third receiver, got you a second and a seventh. That being said, is just a second-round pick too much to ask for a Pro Bowl QB?”

ESPN Jon Clayton is reporting that the Chiefs are seeking a 2nd and a 7th.
On Jason Whitlock, this man is on point lately. I dont usually agree with Jason but feel this time he is making very solid and strong points.
