Chiefs unlikely to sign DT Scott

by Chiefs

According to ESPN Insider the Falcons, Vikings and Bears are the teams that former Chicago Bears UFA DT Ian Scott is currently interested in. Kansas City was originally considered an option for Scott, but that might be different now with the addition of Alfonso Boone and the resigning of Ron Edwards.

Scott is reportedly most interested in a big payday, not quite as interested in the caliber of the team. That tells me that the Chiefs are extremely unlikely to sign Boone’s former teammate. I would still like for us to sign Scott, but I think we’re going to draft a DT in the first three rounds. That would give us a solid rotation as well as some depth, allowing us to slowly develop a rookie player. My assumption is that Edwards and Boone would start with Wilkerson, a rookie and Sims (if he’s still on the team) rotating into the game.
